Cover Draft Coming Along
I've done about 6-7 cover drafts of the Exalted Hack and I think I'm starting to get close. Jennifer's color scheme is so broad and complex that it's hard to create a background that's gels 100%, but I'll get there eventually. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm partially red-green colorblind...
Here's the most recent version, with the new title: O How Glorious Thy Resplendent Transmigration You Children of the Undying Sun, or UNCONQUERED.

(thinking out loud)
Maybe you are working too dark? Scrolling down on your blog, I think the characters look better on a white background because it doesn't wash them out. I like the aggressive purpleness of the book as is and I'd be sad to see that go, but maybe that's not the best answer to your design problems. Maybe. I dunno, make it work, JayWalt.
This is really nice. I think it works great as is.
IF you wanted to try something different, you could try a white/grayscale treatment for the cover, with the figures in full color (and possibly the vertical banner as well).
I'm not sure I understand.
How does White Wolf feel about this?
I think it looks splendid.
i like the color, i like the scrollwork, i think it suits the art and the art suits it.
I also think that may be the froufiest title ever. I both love and hate it. I have no idea what the game is about from a name like that, except maybe semicolon use.
i like that the book is shaped the way it is, thats very nice.
Judd: The same way they feel about Sol Invictus and 25 Lotus Petals. Fan-created netbooks for established games are a cherished tradition that proceeded PDF games based on Open Source licenses. The hack is just a supplemental alternate rules system for Exalted. It's not a complete game, really.
It's residual brain habits from elsewhere, but I can't help but try to acronym O How Glorious &c... into UNCONQUERED and it's just not working.
Cover looks sweet though.
